I did not grow up active; I dreaded gym class and had little interest in sports. As far as young me was concerned, physical activity was primarily something to be avoided wherever possible.

It was an exercise science class in high school that sparked my interest in exercise; since that class, I’ve lived a relatively active life. I’ve been into running and racket sports, group fitness and yoga, follow-along HIIT videos on YouTube, rock climbing, and even an ill-advised dip into dance. It wasn’t until my late 20s, though, that I really came to understand the importance of good old fashioned strength training. When symptoms like a tight lower back and sore shoulders started creeping in, I realized that I needed to take care of my body if I wanted it to take care of me. ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

That realization was the push I needed to start showing up at the gym—first solo, then with friends who shared the same goal. I found that I enjoyed introducing people to strength training, helping them conquer their ‘gym anxiety’ and building programs for them. Training together also became a great source of motivation and connection, and that shared desire to build strength and resilience made the process feel like a team effort. Over time, I found fulfillment not just in the physical progress, but in the consistency, discipline, and sense of achievement that came with it.ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

That mindset is what I bring to my work with 3 Seasons. I earned my B.A. in Kinesiology in 2015 and became a certified CanFitPro Personal Trainer in 2023 to chase that fulfillment full-time, so I draw from both my academic background and my personal experience in strength training. ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

Prior to joining 3 Seasons I worked in hospitality, where I wore many hats over the years. That experience showed me how much I value working with people face to face, and helped me hone my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

Outside of the gym, I have no shortage of hobbies - these days I dabble in bouldering, badminton, tennis & softball, playing boardgames and painting miniatures, reading, cooking, and trying to consume (assimilate) every piece of Star Trek media that exists! ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

Today, my goal is to help clients gain fluency with exercise, train with intention, and build a foundation of strength that supports them in every walk of life. Helping people find their limits and safely push past them is a joy and a privilege, and I’m thrilled to join the team at 3 Seasons where we do that every day.ㅤ ㅤ
