Why am I getting a $0 invoice?

In an effort to improve how we communicate with clients, we have tied our gym management software (Push Press) to our email marketing software and have started adding tags. This will give us the ability to be more precise with emails. For example, now we can email all small group personal training clients, all clients who do FST with Daisy, all clients of a specific trainer, etc.

Before if we wanted to send out a client newsletter it always went to everyone (or I would manually have to type in email addresses to be targeted). Now we can be better about only emailing you about what's relevant.

To help with this we've assigned every active/current client a free ($0) plan called "member" which automatically gives them a "member" tag in our email software. That way I can ensure our client newsletter only goes to current/active members. It also makes it easier for me to track how many members we have, and to be able to generate a list of current members in a few seconds.

Historically I've done a poor job of tracking metrics in the business, and so this part of my effort to be better. There is no reason for me not to always know exactly how many members we have!

The way Push Press works clients automatically get emailed an invoice every time they're billed, even if the charge is for $0. I have gone in and reset the "member" plan to annual instead of monthly so you won't get as many of these $0 invoices moving forward. I'm not sure why, but for whatever reason when our software provider initially set this up for us they made the "member" plan monthly instead of annual.

I am making an effort to automate (with software) and delegate more so that I can obsessively focus my time and energy on helping my clients reach their health & fitness goals and also have more time to coach the trainers on our growing team, so I can support them in helping their client reach their health/fitness goals.
